Effective July 1, 2015, Truman State University is a tobacco-free campus.
The use of all tobacco products, including smokeless tobacco and electronic nicotine delivery systems (e-cigarettes), is prohibited on all University property. It is also prohibited in all vehicles owned or controlled by the University and in personal vehicles that are parked on University property.
The purpose of this policy is to promote the health of the University community, to preserve and protect University property, and to provide a clean and safe environment in which to study, work, and learn.
We ask that individuals who wish to use tobacco products respect the community’s health, environment, and Truman’s tobacco-free policy.
If you’re interested in quitting, we’d like to help. Please review the list of programs, includes smoking cessation coaching, and resources that a variety of organizations currently offer and find the ones that best meet your needs. These lists are not meant to be all-encompassing, so if you find something else, you’re encouraged to use it.
